Formed

Every person is in the process of becoming. The question is who, or what, are you becoming? Jesus is in the business of forming. He wants to influence us, shape us, guide us, so that we become the best version of ourselves. But let's not be confused - this isn't your best version of yourself. It's God's best version of yourself. It's who you were created to become. You see, you were created to shine, to reflect the image of the one true God - to become more and more like Jesus. That's why he came. That's why he calls people. He wants to fully restore us back to our original design. The great thinker and author C.S. Lewis once wrote: "[R]emember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption...There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations - these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors." But back to the question: who are you becoming?
