One of the ways we encourage our kids to experience the Five Marks of a Disciple is by giving them the opportunity to tithe on Sunday mornings. We are called to contribute the talents and resources that God has given us- that call isn’t just for adults, but for youth students, elementary kids, and even preschoolers! The tithes that kids give on a Sunday morning support their sponsor child, Esther from Ecuador.

This year, the kids gave above and beyond what was needed to sponsor Esther, so we are going to take the additional money and support a local project; we will be contributing to Hope Mission's Back to School Supply Drive.   

On Tuesday, August 25, your family is invited to join Delaney at Your Dollar Store With More (13715 42 St. NW) any time between 6:00 and 7:00pm for a School Supply Shopping Shindig. When you arrive, your family will be given a shopping list and a budget, then you’ll have the freedom to go through the store and decide which supplies to buy for a child in our northeast Edmonton community. Once you’re done, Delaney will pay for everything and you can go enjoy the rest of your night!

A question you might be asking yourself- wouldn’t it be easier if Delaney just went and bought the supplies herself?

Maybe. But we want our kids to have the opportunity to actually see what the money they gave all year is able to do. Not only that, but when kids to get to serve alongside their parents, it makes a remarkable impact on their discipleship journey.

You’re welcome to bring anyone with you, just know that you are responsible for ensuring that everyone is following any guidelines that are in place (masks, social distancing, etc).

If your family can’t make it on Tuesday, but would still like to contribute, send an email to delaney@thecrosspointchurch.ca and we’ll come up with an alternate plan that works for you.
