Kid’s Kapers is a theme-based summer daycamp for children in northeast Edmonton that seeks to provide an unforgettable yet affordable camp experience for kids in grades 1 – 6. Camp runs Monday - Friday.

Our camp is set apart by the incredible volunteers that give of their resources, time and talent to make Kid’s Kapers a reality. There are teams behind the scenes that begin preparing crafts, games, stories, music, and outings for camp months in advance. Others commit to serving the kids in the community as leaders during the week of camp. Their energy, engagement and care for the kids is inspiring.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to solve the mystery of the Exodus: How is it possible that Moses and the Israelites escaped from Egypt after over 200 years of slavery? Compile the clues, examine the evidence, and crack the case! Join us as we decode messages, create emissary essentials, munch on Sleuth Snacks, exercise our spy senses and uncover the secret of “Mission (Im)possible”.

Camp takes place at Delwood Community League (7515 Delwood Rd). In the afternoons kids are offsite on outings. You will be notified of these outings approximately 2 weeks prior to camp.

Who can attend Kid’s Kapers?

Kid’s Kapers is for children in grades 1-6 (2017-18 school term), who live in northeast Edmonton.

What is a typical day like at Kid’s Kapers?

Here is what a typical day* looks like:

9:00 Sign-In

9:00 Learning Centres

9:45 Large Group (Singing & Bible Story)

10:15 Small Groups

10:45 Recreation

11:15 Crafts

12:00 Lunch

1:00 Outing

3:45 Snack

4:00 Parent Pick-up**

* We welcome parents or guardians to join us at any time throughout the day.

** On Friday families are invited to attend a short program with highlights from the week @ 12pm, followed by a free lunch (halal-friendly options will be provided). Camp ends at 1:00pm on Friday.

Is lunch provided?

With the exception of Friday, lunch is not provided. Campers are asked to bring a bag lunch.

Some children who attend this camp may have severe nut allergies, so we would ask that you do not send any nut and peanut products in your child’s lunch for this week. Also, please do not send lunches that require re-heating. Thank you for your understanding.

Halal-friendly snacks will be supplied each day.

Please do not send spending money.

What safety precautions are in place?

Our desire is to create a safe and fun environment for all children who attend. Each of our volunteers must complete a Plan to Protect® training course, which includes vulnerable sector checks. The camp will be staffed on a ratio of 1 adult leader for every 5–10 campers. There will also be someone with First Aid Certification on site.

How much does Kid’s Kapers cost?

We only charge $30 per camper for the whole week of camp. The charge for additional children in the same family is $20.

Kid’s Kapers is a community service of Crosspoint Church in northeast Edmonton.
